After a year or so with Got.Net,
I switched ISPs to a more local provides that had dial-up numbers
throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. That ISP was DSP.net.
I was still using the road-sign theme but I dropped the Simpsons
and Local Sports pages because they were becoming too time-consuming
to update. I replaced these pages with the Anime/The Slayers
page and the Link Library.
In 1999, DSP dropped my website for no reason and without telling
me. What happened was DSP changed their policy on webspace for
dial-up users. We had to "officially request" that the webspace
be enabled on the account. This was bad enough but what was worse
was there was no notification sent to current subscribers about
the policy change. I only found out about the policy when I complained
to customer service about the removal of my website. IMO, DSP.net
handled this change in policy very, very poorly.
